Aino was the perfect island getaway, a true luxury. The views from all around the island were absolutely picturesque. The food was excellent, my room was cozy and spotless, and the hosts were incredibly warm, helpful, and accommodating. Close enough to Rovaniemi for convenience yet wonderfully peaceful. I would highly recommend staying here!

We were lucky to have clear skies, and Aino turned out to be the perfect spot to see the Northern Lights on two different evenings. I loved every meal, even though I’m usually quite picky! The rooms were spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable, and the saunas were ideal for warming up after a full day outdoors.

I would highly recommend this location, especially for anyone hoping to see the Northern Lights. Staying outside the town centre meant far less light pollution and a much better chance to spot them — yet it’s only a short drive to town when needed. Remote feel, central location. I would definitely stay again.

The most beautiful place on Earth! Aino is a cozy, comfortable hotel on a private island surrounded by frozen water — like something from a winter dream. The service was amazing; everyone was so kind and attentive. Just staying on Vartiosaari (actual name of the island) made the whole trip to Lapland worth it. Close to Rovaniemi, yet completely peaceful. If you go to Lapland, this is the place to stay!

The hotel’s location on a private island in the middle of the river gave it a charm like no other. My stay at Aino was unforgettable, and the friendly staff made it feel like one big family on an island. A truly special experience that I definitely recommend.

Absolutely wonderful few days at Aino. The island is beautiful and serene — a perfect place to enjoy nature. We were lucky enough to try husky sledding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and even cold-water swimming. Seeing the Northern Lights was the highlight that made the trip truly magical.

They guided us through spotting the Northern Lights, which were spectacular, and helped us experience authentic local culture. Simply amazing.

Here, the chances were excellent — yet it’s only a short ride into town. Remote but accessible, peaceful but well-connected. I would happily return.

Aino is a quiet, magical place. With the full moon reflecting off the snow, the island looked like a fairy tale. I saw the Northern Lights on two nights, so they are definitely visible from the hotel. After our icy dip, the sauna was ready and perfect. We used it several times! Most activities were just 10–15 minutes away. A truly enchanting stay.
